Golden Kiwi
Actinidia chinensis Golden Kiwi
Female kiwi
Golden Kiwi is a female yellow kiwi with tasty fruits. The plant has heart-shaped, red-haired leaves.
Pollination
This female kiwi needs a male kiwi for pollination, a good pollinator is Atlas.
Pruning
Best in January, not later, because then there is a risk of exudate (so-called bleeding). In the period April – July, gradually prune back long 1-year-old shoots to about 15 cm past the last fruit.
Fertilization
A slightly acidic, airy soil is ideal. Needs a fair amount of well-decomposed compost regularly during the growing season. Seven to eight kg of compost per square meter every year is not an exaggeration.
