Red currant: bears on both 1- and 2-year-old wood, cut off too old branches in winter (not when it freezes). Gooseberry: bears on 1-year-old wood. Cut old branches to 10 cm above the ground after harvest. Burr: bears on 2-year-old wood. After harvesting, completely prune away the branches where the fruits have been attached. Raspberry: snip off each plucked branch to harvest twice a year.

Fertilization
These plants like humus-rich soil. Apply organic fertilizer annually.
