Apricot
Why are fresh apricots eaten so little? It is certainly worth growing this golden summer fruit yourself. Apricots are small yellow fruits with a reddish blush on the cheeks. Like peach, plum and nectarine, they belong to the drupe family. This means that in the center of this fruit you will find a fairly large stony pit. If you allow the fruit to ripen sufficiently, the flesh will easily come off the pit.
Storage
Apricots can be kept for a few days. Keep them in the fridge for a while. Of course, this is very much dependent on how ripe you pick the fruits. A fruit that is already really ripe cannot be stored for long. When you let the apricots dry, you can store them for a long time.
Cleaning
Rinse apricots gently with water. The apricot is a fragile product. Therefore, handle them with care because a stock exchange spot is in it.
Consumption
You can vary endlessly with fresh apricots. The combination of apricots that you stew with chicken has been around for years. The result is an excellent combination of flavors. Do you ever make apple turnovers? Replace the apple with apricots and raisins. Tastes great on a summer day with coffee. Of course, apricots also go well with desserts, in fruit salads or processed in pastries. Did you know that you can easily make a tasty snack from apricots? Just cut them in half and fill them with a soft cream cheese. Don't forget to make a nice jar of apricot jam yourself during the apricot season. This way you can enjoy your apricots again when the season is over. So plenty of variety!

In short, a super healthy fruit!
