Two varieties in one tree. This tree can be planted all year round and requires little maintenance.

Pollination
These two species pollinate each other well.

Pruning
Cut vertical branches. Elstar is a good grower, so prune well. By pinching the tips of the newly grown shoots from the tree several times with your thumb and forefinger in the spring, the tree simply remains in shape and much pruning is not necessary.

Fertilization
In the autumn a generous amount of organic fertilizer and again in the summer when the fruit is rich. Add lime moderately for sweeter fruits.
