Braeburn
Malus domestica Braeburn
Blushed eating apple
A firm, juicy, pleasantly sour and very aroma eating apple. Braeburn forms long weak branches. The Braeburn is crispy and freshly sour.
Pollination
This apple is somewhat self-pollinating, but cross-pollination with Pinova, Topaz or Elstar is more successful.
Pruning
In winter or around July 1. If the tree is not an espalier, let the branches hang down as much as possible (this makes the tree more fertile) and you can bend a few new branches in later for replacement pruning.
Fertilization
In autumn give a rich gift of an organic fertilizer. Fertilize again in the summer with rich fruiting. Add lime moderately for sweeter fruits.
