Fruit syrup
Necessities
500 grams of rhubarb
300 grams of strawberries
Lemon zest of half a lemon
175 grams of sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
200 ml of water
Preparation method
1. Wash and cut the strawberries and rhubarb.
2. Place the strawberries and rhubarb with the sugar, zest and water in a heavy saucepan.
3. Bring to a boil over low heat.
4. Let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
5. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
6. Let it cool.
7. Pass the mixture through a sieve and collect the liquid.
8. Press the mixture into the strainer to collect all the liquid.
9. Pour the syrup into a bottle.
10. The syrup is now ready. Keep it in the fridge and when consumed, dilute it in a glass with water.
